It's a simple notion: Young people should be able to receive a quality education in a compassionate, safe, and affirming school. Yet every day, we hear from parents just like you that their children are struggling at school simply because of who they are.

PROUD Academy is a one-of-a-kind, much-needed, truly inclusive school with the needs and interests of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Queer, Questioning (LGBTQ+) youth and their allies in the mind, heart, and soul of our learning community.

We are working very hard to open PROUD Academy and will do so when we can best meet the needs of our students. In the founding year, we will be intentionally small and housed at the Boys and Girls Club in Ansonia, CT. This warm and welcoming environment will feature PROUD’s insistence on inclusion, belonging, and social-emotional learning standards within the core of its curriculum. We are committed to hiring highly qualified teachers, not only in their subjects of expertise but also in their passion for creating an inclusive school community. 
 
We are accepting applicants for grades 7-8. The tuition is $19,900, and enrollment is limited to 20 students.
 
We believe that PROUD Academy’s ability to keep moving in a positive direction depends in great part on the commitment of our founding families. With that in mind, we thank you in advance for helping us prepare for our inaugural year.
